Bouquin Dupont is a Micro producer in Avize.
The legacy of this winery started in 1929 when the family bought some land in Avize Village. Avize is a rare Grand Cru. One of the 17 Grand Cru Village. It is in Cotes de Blancs, famous for its Chalky and mineral Chardonnay.
Dominique Dupont the current owner and his family are RM (recoltant manipulant); A Recoltant Manipulant is an artisanal winemaker, independent that owns the vineyard, harvests and directly produces their wines in their cellars.
His Champagne is a personal interpretation of Avize Grand Cru. Dominique Champagne is elegant with a unique character and original at the same time keeping their signature Avize style: sharp acidity and chalky minerality.
Bouquin Dupont wines come from old vines trained with traditional agricultural methods and made with artisanal vinification without any artificial intervention neither any chemical ingredient till a manual a la vole disgorgement.
What I like about Dominque wines?
Elegant and territorial with a personal interpretation of Avize Cru.
Very interesting reserve some aged for over 10 years on the less other for several years in barrels.
Powerful but with well balanced acidity, minerality and with a great character.
An emotional Champagne, not a standard one.
